This institution of higher learning was established in 1961 with an enrolment of 40 students. It has reached its present glory due to the administrative acumen, academic excellence and dedication of Principals and teachers. Stress on discipline and academic excellence is the soul of every organized body and the mammoth student population of the college not only subscribe to this view but also is an embodiment of institutional discipline. The faculty of this college strives to make an honest, conscientious and sincere effort to inculcate the basic human attributes of truth, beauty and the goodness in the students. This is the largest co-educational institution in the state enrolling more than 3000 students every year. All the streams viz, Arts, Commerce, Science, B.C.A., B.B.A. are taught in this college. P.G. Programme in Geography is another attraction of this college.
